Do you find that every time you turn your AC on a peculiar smell comes from it? You may feel that it smells like dirty socks. This problem is very common and is known as “dirty sock syndrome”, it is caused by mold and mildew that build up in your air conditioners evaporator coil.

Dirty Sock Syndrome is a by-product of continuous use of your air conditioning. It is caused by dust that collects in the air conditioner and also from an air filter that has not been changed. This causes the air entering the air conditioner to be filtered incorrectly.

The easiest way to eradicate the dirty sock smell from your home is to replace your air conditioner's air filter. Then check the drainage pans and see if they're full. If they're full you should empty them. Also, you should clean your evaporator coil, especially if you've found mold growing on it.

For professional cleaning contact Four Seasons Air Conditioning today. We are happy to help you!
