How often should you change your Air Filter?
Air Filters act as barriers to prevent contaminants and other particles from circulating in the air. They block dust, pollen, lint, mold, hair, animal fur, bacteria and more. Basic filters should be changed at least every three months by homeowners or tenants. This will help your HVAC system work properly and will keep your energy bills from going up.
The schedule that you keep for changing your air filters depends on the circumstances of every home and the kind of filters you have. But on average for filters beyond the basic ones: is 30 DAY’S -If your home has multiple pets, or someone in your home suffers from allergies, we recommend the filter be changed anywhere between 15 to 30 days.
When air filters aren’t changed, they start building up dirt, dust and allergens that clog up the filter. This decreases their efficiency and in the long run causes problems to the HVAC system.
